CAIRO, February 1, 2012 — At least 73 people were killed after a soccer pitch invasion in the Egyptian city of Port Said, health ministry sources said, raising the official estimate of the death count from 25.It was one of the worst incidents of sports violence in Egypt in decades. A security official and a medic said fans of the home team, Al-Masry, swarmed the field after a rare 3-1 win against Al-Ahly, Egypt’s top team. They threw stones, fireworks, and bottles at the fans and injured some players. A medic at a morgue in Port Said, a city on the Mediterranean coast, said some of the dead were security officers. He was speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to reporters. The causes of the deaths were not immediately known. The players were later taken to the locker room for protection, Sayed Hamdi, a player told state TV. Soon after the violence, a soccer game in the Cairo Stadium between the Al-Ismailiya and Zamalek teams was called off in mourning for the violence in Port Said. State TV showed video of sections of the Cairo stadium on fire. The announcer said angry fans of the Zamalek protested the cancellation and set some sections of the stadium on fire. 5. @TheOscar401 Actually the consensus on the? team is A-Rod is quicker, but Alex is apparently faster when it comes to straight up linear speed.

  6. Alex Morgan? is a goddess

  7. “And? sometimes it’s boring…”

  15. :-I? Deserve?

  16. @pperedot. No,I am not confused. My point was one that was aimed at cunts who simply judge a body of people based on? there ethnicity. In this example I fired a shot at someone who made a comment that “they belong back in the desert” or what the fuck ever.
Great civilizations come and go. The ebb and flow of the human condition is a tragic and at times breathtaking process. But nobody is above me,nor I am above them, because of my heritage. Peace out, this thread is Plaid out :)

  17. @2010rawtruth So was what happened to the embassy. A little thing I thought of? adding is that the Egyptian revolution didn’t happen because people were doing a copy-cat or anything. It’s because the Egyptian people were quite for 30 years and what happened at The Saints Church was the final straw that lead to the uproar.

  18. @2010rawtruth Besides nowadays everyone has premarital relationships so before you go on blabbing about our culture and accusing the Egyptians of being too firm a society, take a deeper look, because what you’re saying is not related to the reality at all. About the {so-called “uprise”} you’re talking about the killing of Christians was done by? eccentric muslim maniacs, the looting of the shops was done by the people who were released from prison during the revolution.

  19. @2010rawtruth I’d also like to tell you a little thing. The military police killed the Christians in Maspero and because what happened in the match was already planned out they did nothing. Explain to me why the emergency exits that would help Al Ahly fans to leave the stadium were welded and sealed shut.? Do you think they had a death wish or something? If this is not political as you say, then what is it exactly?

  20. @2010rawtruth This shows what you know a.k.a NOTHING. Our culture is not rotten, When we started our civilization you were just monkeys on trees. I’m a pure Christian Egyptian and my great grandparents were the martyrs of Egypt who paid their lives so that Christianity would continue in? Egypt and I can tell you that this is pure politics. What happened in the football match was pure politics. Planned avenge by Gamal and Alaa Mubarak. The police were just bystanders, they did nothing.

  21. @mechiefslapahobitch stop making me? laugh!!!!!!

  22. ?????? ??? ???? ????? ?? ????? ??? ???? ????????

  23. england loses crown as king? of soccer riots!

  24. @ChrisScorpiousa
i believe u r confused between Egyptians that were geographically located in that region until a 300 B.C and the Persian people that became dominant in that region later and Rome in 30? B.C, well, basically today’s Egyptians are nothing like the ones that served the pharaohs of a great empire.
    cheers

  25. @GOOB3000 come? at me princess…Ill mess you up.

  26. Is it Islamophobia when a rag kills? another rag in a rag country?

  27. @mechiefslapahobitch you have an IQ of? a donut
