Might be a good idea to go down to the library and get a book out. Soccer for Dummies might be a good start.
Try watching a couple of games on TV and think about what you would do differently. Erm, there's a lot of nuances in football. A bit like baseball. Definitely a bad idea to use your hands, unless you're the keeper. Or when you're taking throw-ins. Also, try playing a man in the hole behind the strikers. And generally don't have the kids shoot outside the penalty area.
Good luck...!

Players at that level are still learning their fundamental skills: passing, dribbling, shooting, etc.
Try to incorporate drills that have the players moving constantly and not standing in line waiting for their turn. The more they have a ball at their feet, the better things will go for you and for them.
There are a ton of drills out there on the web that you can implement. You might also look at an online soccer coaching course as many are geared towards new coaches that don't know where to start.
http://www.ultimatesoccercoaching.com has some good information to get you started.

Well, to try and explain the whold game of soccer might be too tedious and...hard to explain, but there are some great videos for coaches like "All the Right Moves" and that same company makes more.
Well...get the ball in the goal...I'm guessing you know that much, but here's what you need to learn. You can look it up online, along with the Soccer Rulebook..wish I had the link
Look up the offsides rule, the different positions, rules for throw-ins, kick-offs, goal-kicks and corner-kicks.
Try finding some coaching videos on youtube.com
Best of luck.
On second thought, check out this website http://www.coachingsoccer101.com/

Take a look at the 2 sites that I have in my sources, they have some great things for any coaching level.
The internet is a great resource for this type of situation. Google searches on the laws of the game would be a great place to start if you're unsure of rules.
If their 12 year old boys they're still learning right along with you, so don't be too intimidated.
Hope that helps.
