Definitely a bad idea to use your hands, unless you're the keeper. Or when you're taking throw-ins. Also, try playing a man in the hole behind the strikers. The more they have a ball at their feet, the better things will go for you and for them. There are a ton of drills out there on the web that you can implement. The internet is a great resource for this type of situation. Google searches on the laws of the game would be a great place to start if you're unsure of rules. If their 12 year old boys they're still learning right along with you, so don't be too intimidated. Hope that helps.
