Can you bring a soccer ball in your hand carry on the airplane?
curious asked:
i’m moving and flying to seattle today. i love soccer and i just got a new soccer ball….can i bring it with me on the flight because if i can’t, i’ll have to throw it away
won’t they deflate it though?
although i think for this airlines i’m allowed one hand carry, and i need that hand carry….so does that mean i cant bring the soccer ball unless i put it in the bag?

You can carry it on. It should not be a problem.

Yes, there isn’t a problem, though the arline might count is your carry-on piece. If they try to, tell them it doesn’t weigh much and you’ll keep it under the seat in front of you.

Go ahead and just kick it down the street because they wont let you unless you pass it through the x-rays or get it checked J/K
they will!!

I dont see why you couldn’t take it on. Everyone is aloud a carry on bag and a soccer ball is smaller so dont throw away your ball.

Why don’t you just deflate it and put it in your carry-on? It’s a lot more convenient to carry when it’s not full.

Funny you should ask this question, today i had a kid come on with 3 soccer balls from germany (My flight was from Singapore to Brunei) According to our airline procedure, he may carry them in the cabin as long as they’re deflated.

I you cherish it that much, why don’t you deflate it yourself and pack it. I don’t think you will have problem hand carrying it on the plane, but it is a risk. Normally the airlines allow one carry one and one personal item like a purse. So call it your personall item.

Yes, of course. I’m a pilot and trust me, I know what you can and cant take on the airplane.

Yes you can, just don’t go around kicking the ball while boarding the aircraft.
